Re: Cybertron.ca Exclusive Hasbro Q&A for October 2008

my assumption is online toy companies could be the one holding the third party company back for shipping to Canada. HTS is a lot cheaper than some of the other websites. Titanium Skywarp only cost 19.99 USD on HTS while BBTS charges 34.99 USD

Agreed. One of the best questions I've seen from these Q&A's. Also, "boo-urns" to the HTS stuff.

Re: Cybertron.ca Exclusive Hasbro Q&A for October 2008

Next time, I think it would be a VERY important follow-up question to ask if they can look into the Canadian shipping from HTS to make sure that USPS is an option, and ideally, that USPS 1st Class Mail is an option.
Why? Anything other than USPS tends to over-charge on "customs handling fees", that, after shipping and tax, usually end up costing at least 50% of the item's cost.
USPS 1st Class Mail is almost the same cost as domestic US shipping, and the only affordable option. It IS uninsured, and tends to take up to a month to arrive from the USA, but USPS Priority usually costs twice as much.

Some interesting stuff here.

On the remolding issue, I think many fans would be happy to see remolds of only -some- parts (notably heads and other small bits), so the expense is not a problem so much as time. Nice to see that they are FINALLY deciding to integrate the potential for remolds into the original design stage. I think it's a solution a lot of us have been suggesting for a long time now.

Most of Hasbro's answers fall into the "maybe, we'll see" category of answering, but I agree the retooling vs repaint cost answer was good.

Thanks! It was something I'd been wondering about for a long time; glad it got picked up.

So often Q&A's end up being "are you going to make X toy" and "when is X coming out"... all information we will eventually get regardless.

I'm far more interested in the behind-the-scenes things we would never get to learn about outside of a format like this. Between the Q&A's on C.CA and TFW, we should learn a lot about what's happening with our friends in RI. Kudos to those putting it all together.
