potential there. were you thinking mod-less combo or were you planning to mod the figures to make a full proper combination mode?

If so, go get yourself some Bionical type toys, you can salvage some great connectors from those.

Re: my Classic Bruticus

Bionicle, Neoshifters, Strux, Lego Knights seem to be the common ones... Really strong magnets might also work, though not necessarily as a joint...
If you wanna avoid partsforming Joints, take a look and see what works best for your molds - you will likely have a little bit of kibble showing on vehicle mode but you can always try and see what you can do to disguise it. OR give it another function - Instead of plugging into Onslaught, the joint on Brawl could be used to attach a big double barrelled cannon...

Re: my Classic Bruticus

Excellent job!

I'd agree with using lego knights, lego bionicle, etc. They're good joints. Neoshifters too. What I like about lego knights (the bigger figures, not the minifig sets) is that they use ratcheting joints, so they hold their position even for a decent amount of weight, whereas I believe neoshifters tend to be ball joints, but you might need them for different parts.

Check out thrift stores, (Value village, talize) you can usually get a ziploc bag full of pieces for $5 or so.
