Since prototypes, they mighta drilled the hole for the display. Like the hot glue extras.

For a prototype these look very promising. Definitely excited to see more of these as they develop.

I'm so, so, happy about these!
They're not perfect, nor do they need to be. These will be fine additions to my collection!

I know it's a prototype, but isn't prototype (whether it's cars or toys or whatever) supposed to showcased the best everything because it's "for show" then the final production version gets dialed down and disappoint people? And knowing the cheap bean counters that run Hasbro, if the prototype is only so so, wouldn't the final products look even worse?
Well prove me wrong.

I've never heard of hot glue on prototypes before.
Proves these were Not ready.

Well, that's not what prototype means. From dictionary.com a prototype means this:
one of the first units manufactured of a product, which is tested so that the design can be changed if necessary before the product is manufactured commercially.
No where does it say it's supposed to be the best.
As for the bots themselves, are they perfect? No. Are they even close to the third party combiners? No.
But geezus man, I don't think you put enough rage into your post. That level of negativity can't be healthy, especially when we're just talking about toys here.
Don't mean to get on your case--feel free to ignore me--but you got to look at the positives more.
If you look at the base figures, they're ripe for 3rd party add-ons that can unlock their potential.
I mean look at that FOC Bruticus, and the microblaze Onslauguth/add-on that turns it into IMHO a pretty great figure set.

Nope. I have no rage against Hasbro. I just think that while most other companies at SDCC are showcasing the best of their offers for our money, it's disappointing that Hasbro seems to just glued together these prototypes last night, evidently lacking preparation. Hasbro seems to be more interested in showing angry birds and baby stuff to the super geeks adults at SDCC.
Would I change my mind when these come out at retail? Maybe, maybe not. Like you said, it's just toys.
