Not saying you are entirely wrong, but it really depends. The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith and The Eagles, just to name a few, were way better as groups than the various solo projects some of their members had. Pink Floyd without Waters was a shadow of itself, but Waters alone is really boring. Some art project are truely group efforts and some really are shinning trough because of a single person.
