Turns out they misclassified the package as containing Ceramic resulting in them charging me $6 in duty which a Plastic toy would normally be exempt from. Once I get the refund my total will be $126

The way I look at it even with the duty the cost to purchase it from a North American retailer (at $89.99USD) plus shipping and exchange would be about $140. So in the end shipping from Japan still saved me $14

I've been preordering MP's direct from Japan for more than a year now and I always manage to save at least a little (and sometimes a lot) over preorders from BBTS/TFSource.

What I saved on Ironhide is the least I've managed to save and that is likely because some idiot put a sticker over the contents description which I imagine caused customs to stop and take a closer look.
I guess i got lucky then... Got 2 of them and no duties/taxes

Who knows with Customs. I'd like to believe in a rhyme or reason for why I was charged. That sticker covering the description and causing misclassification and possibly all the charges is a tempting scapegoat. But in the end its probably luck that kept me duty free for MP-20, MP-21, MP-22, and MP-25 before this and will hopefully prevent me from being charged for MP-28, MP-29, and MP-30

Re: MP-27 Ironhide... Shipping/Release Speculation and Enthusiasm Thread

So the tolerances on the one hand or the gun for my MP-27 were a little too tight (or at least that is the story I am sticking with) and the thumb on one hand snapped off. Right now I am waiting for some Epoxy to set and restore him to display condition. However I am not confident that this will hold the thumb at all so I have decided to for the first time ever with one of my MP figures to get the KFC hand upgrade. The Chosen Prime is the only retailer that I can so far find with KP-12 listed.

I am wondering though if anybody here can recommend a retailer based in Canada that will be selling these hands, preferably for less than $15.99USD.

That's taken from BlackApple's mod. Pretty expensive for an ugly head and couple plastics bits to extend the tires. His v2 is much better, http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transf...l#post13532416

Ironhide wanna be kiss player??

Honestly I think the screw holes bothers me more then the bum wheels. No one display the back of the bot any way. But I still wish TT would place caps to cover the screw holes on MP.

Unless you're displaying him with his back and ass on display, you shouldn't be seeing much in the way of screw holes. There's really just the posts on the forearms.

Ironhide looks great with the other Autobots!
Problem is getting them back together on one shelf.
