I would agree that the Internet is possibly the single greatest and single worst piece of technology every created.

Besides the internet and computer, as far as actual devices, I would say that my smart phone and my PVR have changed my life for the better.

My Smart phone is the closest thing to a do-everything device:
Telephone: check
Mini-computer: check
Camera: check
Video Camera: check
GPS: check

Not to mention a video game platform as well as all the other little stuff that comes with it.

One thing does the work of 6 other devices that I had to carry around before and it is smaller too boot! I guess the only small issue it that my phone is still a bit behind in its picture and video capabilities, but they can only get better.

The other thing that I love is my PVR. I pay a lot of money every month for my Cable and like to try and get full use of it. The PVR allows me to record stuff with the push of a button and watch at a time that is best for me. It really sucks trying to live your life around a television schedule.

Bluetooth/SYNC in my car - so much better than any bluetooth or wired earpiece. Definitely improved the driving experience for me a lot!!

Google maps in my iPhone - I want to eventually get a GPS but for now this will do. And the google maps has saved me enough times in those non familiar areas.

Internet - At a touch of button information is fed to you. Ignorance should have been eliminated. Questions like what the hell does Buhawi mean shouldn't be hard to find. I remember Asian Avenue where people with Asian fever kept asking how to say beautiful is in _____ language. Buddy, you has the Interwebs!

I'm glad my childhood had nothing to do with the internet or facebook etc.. Hell, I was in my late teens before we even got call display. Phone rang you picked it up to see who it was.
Less pressure and way more fun IMO.

I'd have to say that the internet would be the main piece of technology that has made life better. Any bit of info that you could possibly want is at your finger tips.

Need to find where that store is and how long it will take to get there? Check!
Need to find that recipe? Check!
Need to find out what the hell your kids are talking about? Check!
Free porn? Check!
Missed the game and need to check the score? Check!
Found a funny mole and are too lazy to go to a doctor to find out what it is? Check!
Naked pictures of GMFan? Check!

The access to information is actually mind blowing when you think about it.
