I just wanted to share come of my upgrades, scratch builds and items I've add to some of my figures with the Transformers community.
This first post is Foot Plates I built taking inspiration from the G1 footplates. They are just static pieces, with no tilt or articulation. The original hand/foot/gun just sits on top with the heel/thumb bent into it's gun configuration. The overall size was gathered from the Perfect Effect set and taking into consideration the height of the original foot.
The pieces were made from sheet and shaped styrene, painted and weathered to simulate wear and tear. I will not be repainting the figure to match but the scratch built plates and the hands from WuLongToys (via Shapeways) share the weathered look and I feel the rest of the figure does not need it.

Reason: Typo in title
The next set up scratch built upgrades I did was to Leader Class Ultra Magnus. Ever since Animated, Magnus has always needed a hammer. In the CW version you do get a "hammer" but you lose the iconic Shoulder Missiles.
Having the original G1 toy as a kid I refused to give up those missiles but I still wanted a hammer. So using foamcore as a base, I glued sheet styrene around the core and started to add details, a 5mm post, paint and weathering.
The hammer heads attach the same way the missile pods do so there was no further mods required, and yes the parts do "store" in vehicle mode.
This is my latest project that I am currently working on. The figure has not even hit retail as I write this but I have already begun work on new feet for Combiner Wars Bruticus.
Taking ques from 3rd party and older add on kits I began with the basic idea of a little more height but more girth to the stock Hand/Foot/Gun. Using Defensor as a stand in for now, and photos from the upcoming Bruticus set I was able to fashion these.
Still plenty of more work to be done, but I figured I would share with you all my latest personal upgrade project.
They still require paint and of course CW Bruticus but Defensor is a decent enough stand in. They will be painted silver with weather details done in black and green.
Well working on the Bruticus feet I was further inspired to add further details to the ones I created for Defensor. They will be painted to match what was already built and completed but the additions bulk out the shoes a little more.
Working on my Combiner Wars Feet, Shoes or the before mentioned Slippers. First for your viewing pleasure is the updated ones for Defensor.
The next set is for Bruticus. Working off of photos and using Defensor as a gauge for size I will be more than prepared for when it is released.
I may still add further weathering details but for now I am happy with them. As always just posting to share as it was a forum somewhere that gave me the original idea.
