Re: So what do you think about Transformers Animated now?

I'm in the same boat with Code of Honor. Some of the new toys look to be absolute must haves, but judging from the latest 1 minute clip it looks like the production values are going to be a mixed bag. Derrick Wyatt's designs translate well in toy form, however if those designs aren't handled competently by a good production house, it will seem like a wasted effort.
I can't comment on the writing for obvious reasons, but some of the details that have surfaced do seem genuinely intriguing.
I can only hope this new series has some appeal to more vintage fans other than nostalgia.
I'm still optimistic about seeing this new 'chin'formers series.

I am so happy for this toy line since I won't be spending any money on it...

First time since Beast Machines that I will be skipping a tf-toy line completely. Make room for more classics and masterpieces.

i love the bot modes-espcially since they're practically kibble-less- but the alt modes are more deformed than cyber slammers.

classics is the saving grace for the line, and now hasbro knows that.

Most exciting line since... the movie. I like how you have the ultra-realistic movie toys on one end and the ultra-cartoony animated toys on the other. This might become my favorite line ever.

I was pretty excited went I first saw everything, I like the style of the animation and was really happy to see how well it translated to the toys. I think we're geting some great stuff here, I believe the show will be great and the figures will be awesome.

Re: So what do you think about Transformers Animated now?

As a 26 year old who is far from a fan of cartoons these days in general, I have strong doubts about the show but the toys seem ok. Not amazing but decent. They don't seem as good quality as say classics but the engineering seems decent, perhaps a bit basic. I hate the faces though. Both seem a little bit more geared towards a younger audience/toy owner, which is fine with me as the more transfans the better (and they seem to be trying to cater to every category of fan in one way or another which is good), but there are elements of that that make me like the Animated line less (i.e. simplistic blobly look). Oh man I hate the faces, did I say that already?

So overall? I'm not a big fan of the 'style' but the toys look like they should be solid enough for picking up a strategic selection of (I'll probably end up getting about 1/3-1/2 of the line, assuming it will end up being a pretty big one). Their heads are going to give me sillydeath-jay leno-clown nightmares though.

I had some serious doubts when I first heard about it. But now, with some of the toys looking very nice, I have a more positive opinion about the series. I look forward to own some of them.

Very excited about these toys, I'm looking forward to picking them all up hopefully especially since I skipped out on the movie line. Looks like Animated and Classics will eat into my wallet next year T__T

Still don't like the design's, Prime still looks evil. I did like the updated theme song on the clip though. I'll give it every oppurtunity to impress me. A solid story and good writing would get me past my dislike of the designs quickly. Apparently there are no "pokemon" type aspects to it like Cybertron has so thats a good thing as well.
