wasn't one of these used in a videogame of some sort?
And yeah, Guns are stupid... they only have one use... killing someone else... if someone's gonna die by my hand it's gonna be with the blood on my hands not from a weapon.

Guns don't kill people... disgruntled toy collectors do

Re: Gonna get a gun...am I crazy?
I'm with you as a firearms owner... I've had my license for quite sometime now and take part in a few aspects of the sport from Metallic Silhouette, Bullseye Pistol, IPSC and Long Range Rifle. I've took a PPC Course and shot a few matches but it never grew on me like the rest did. Only thing I've yet to try out is Cowboy Action but I have played with my share of firearms from that crowed.
From your list I'd defiantly recommend a 1911 whether it be a Colt or not (myself, I have a double stack Para Ordnance in both .40S&W and .45ACP) for competition use. As for the PPK, those are prohibited due to barrel length and I'm not sure off the top of my head if you can get one with a 4.250''+ barrel. And I'm pretty sure the PPS9 falls into the same category as their compact/concealed carry style guns which don't fly here in Canada. I would however recommend getting a .22lr pistol to start (can be found in a 1911 style) and learn how to shoot properly before moving up to a .45!

Personal past set aside, you're better off steering clear of any firearms.
Many reasosn have been already said and there's a ton more that haven't.

Re: Gonna get a gun...am I crazy?
Get a fake gun and paint it to look real. In the middle of the night if there's anyone in the house or any trouble at all, odds are someone won't want to try their luck to see if it's real/loaded or not you know what I mean ?! I know I wouldn't like those odds.
If anything it'll give you time to get a real weapon in the house like a bat or hockey stick lol
Plus it's alot cheaper and your removing any dangers involving a real gun.
My father in law is a gun enthusiast, follows the rules to the exact letter of the law. But still with my toddlers i'm still a little uncomfortable knowing he has several guns. I've only ever shot BB guns...and it never appealed to me. I prefer beating my opponents the old fashioned way

Unless the other guy is packing for real in which case, you end up being an anecdote in a late night comedy sketch. Guy who brought a toy to a gunfight.

Re: Gonna get a gun...am I crazy?
Your kidding yourself if you think that you could properly "protect' your house more effectively with a Gun.
IF someone tries to break into your home, do you really think you will have the ability to find the gun, find the key, find the bullets, load the gun in the dark all while NOT tipping off the would-be crook while not shitting your pants in the process? AND if you are somehow able to get all this stuff together, you have to ask, was that too easy to get that stuff together, easy enough for your kids when you are not home???
If you want to fire a gun? Cool; do it at a range, but do not put your family in danger so you can feel like Dirty Harry.

That's exactly what my friend who is a Constable with the VPD recommended too.

$40K for an obnoxiously awesome car versus $1,000 for a weapon that kills does seem to be the safer bet...I'm too late to order one so lets hope they're still affordable/available in 12 years

Have you read my earlier entries? That's the plan for now.
