I had no idea where the idea for a gold Megatron could have come from until I saw the pic of the Golden Lagoon episode earlier in this thread. I suppose the MC-13 Walther P-38 U.N.C.L.E. pre transformers version of Megs also had a slight gold tint to the chrome as well but I think that's unlikely what they were going for here. Who knows. If it was a silver chrome version like the G1 toy like I originally thought than I probably would have bought one.
