Re: How much have our collections grown since joining Cybertron.ca?

this is like a meeting of CA - Collector Anonymous

I had I think....4 figures before joining. Now I have nearly 200. Someone do the math because I don't feel like it right now.

Re: How much have our collections grown since joining Cybertron.ca?

the site has definitely had a huge impact on my collecting. i think when i first signed up i had just learned about animated and how actually AWESOME it was. i remember seeing snippits of it on tv and writing it off instantly as "being too kiddy". i became obsessed and collected everything i wanted super fast with the help of the site and ebay. from there its been a huge part of my life really... coming here and reading shit, posting shit, making pals here and there... its been great.

Re: How much have our collections grown since joining Cybertron.ca?

I was just like that too. I'd only vaguely been aware of what Transformers Animated was because of 30 second youtube clips, and I kinda wrote it off for the same reasons. I thought Blurr was hella cool, so I wanted to get him (and thanks to VE Telus ended up doing so), but I didn't think for a moment that I'd care about anything else. FF a year, and while my TFA collection is still pretty small, its not only bigger than one character, but I've also gained a very solid appreciation for the line in itself, part of which had to do with the realization that characters like Blackarachnia & Waspinator were given an incantation, and getting introduced to Lockdown definitely followed suit.

Also, both this place (and by certain extension TFW) have become a pretty big part of my life since coming out of stasis, and its really not just about the toys or media. I'm here almost every day, at least poke around through most areas, and am really glad that I decided to get back into things full force.

Should I have titled this thread "Toys that Vange1us made us buy"?

Re: How much have our collections grown since joining Cybertron.ca?

I shudder to even attempt to answer that. This site was the gateway drug that led to $60K+ in acquisitions, an entire G1 collection, branching out into designer toys, and then deciding I wasn't satisfied with the resources available to us and deciding to build ShelfLifex.com. Community is soooooo bad for the wallet...lol.
