Alternators Question
If you were to pick one, and only one Alternator figure to represent the toyline in your collection, which figure would you personally select?
I sold off my Alternators because I just didn't have any fun with them, but as a collector I may want to pick up a figure from that line just to represent it in my collection. To show people everything of what Hasbro engineered, and to show my kids someday when I have them.
So, who would you pick above anybody/everybody else?

Re: Alternators Question
Either Mirage or Jazz/Shockwave. I think both of those molds are great examples of the engineering and detail that the Alternators line have brought to the TF table, so to speak. Honorable mention goes to the Hound/Swindle mold.
And now thinking about it, the Jazz/Shockwave mold is probably the better example due to the bot mode being just a little better (less kibble and a bit more articulated).

This is unfair. Alternators are like Pokemon... Gotta catch them all!
Sorry, but my love for this line runs deep. Having said that though, if I were to pick only one, I would pick Smokescreen.
He started the line off, and for the longest time was the ONLY Alternator in town. To me he is the first example of the modernized G1 Transformer. Truly a robot in realistic disguise.
Really though, you cannot go wrong with any of the Alternators. If you want one with meaning, go Smokescreen.

Smokescreen and Sideswipe were the only Alternators I had for the longest time, until Grimlock came to town. I just don't care enough for the character to pick him up again.
As for your love of Alternators, more power to you, I just never found them fun enough to really get into them. And Distribution of them didn't help none either.

Re: Alternators Question
Yup, Smokescreen would be the flagship alternator, and still oe of my favorite. Plus, in comparison, he's realtively easy to trasnform. He's gorgeous, flashy and posable.

Re: Alternators Question
Although Sunstreaker and Tracks are the only ones I own. Mirage and Skidds look the best IMO.

Re: Alternators Question
My vote would be for Jazz. Not only does he have one of the best molds in the alternators line, but he's probably got the best G1 representation of any of the other characters. Hound is pretty awesome too, but he's not nearly as iconic.
But I do see the argument for Smokescreen, so maybe that's your best bet.

Re: Alternators Question
I only have one, Jazz. Pretty incredible figure. PITA to transform, I call him a rubix cube.
I'm still on the fence about getting him some G1 Reprolabels.

Re: Alternators Question
Jazz/RX-8 is a great mold. but I find it very similar in transformation with the other Alternators.
When I got the Hound/Jeep mold I was super stoked by the way it transformed. I would suggest both to showcase how different they can be.
I also like the FP upgrade for the Optimus SRT-10
Worst is the Skids/xB mold. The back seats keep falling off b/c the peg wears out so quickly.

Re: Alternators Question
Alternators were a trashy second to Binaltech in which case smokescreen as the ralley car or Rigie clear version.
