Re: Devastator - MakeToys or TFC?

Guess I'm going with Giant based on this review

I think that is the best price going.
It is an excellent price. Has anyone ordered from ActionRobo before? Is it a US site? Any feedback on your experience?

I LOVE my TFC Hercules.

I only got him over GG because someone wanted to trade me an MP10 and TRU MP TC for it.

I honestly think these were both pretty well conceptualized and executed products.

Hercules. He was a better representation of Devy to me. Quality has been great, no issues with mine.

I got mine there, packed will, shipped fast. Less than $400 shipped and after the Exchange rate (about the same as it is now when I got it).

Re: Devastator - MakeToys or TFC?

Maketoys is an awesome company and makes some fantastic collectors items, I'm going to be picking up their Utopia, but they do have a hyper realistic almost anime inspired style that influences their designs. Whether you're into it or not is really up to you. I did skip their Giant, although it still tempts me, in favour of TFC's Hercules because I absolutely loved the big, chunky almost MP-esque styling. It looked like Devastator from the cartoon (or the IDW comic books if you don't have the Rage Set). Maketoys Giant, to me, looks much more realistic like a Devastator robot would look like if actual construction vehicles could transform.

Edit:
Congrats on your Giant! You really can't go wrong with Maketoys. Let's see some pics when you get it in, eh? =)

Re: Devastator - MakeToys or TFC?

MakeToys was my choice.

Here's something I point out to my friends who ask me why I chose MT versus TFC and the reason basically comes from TFC (Not in a good way)

To me, when you release a product and then subsequently, you release an "upgrade" kit for your own product, to me, it's like admitting that you messed up the release of the figure of some sort. I know some people won't agree to it and would think " It's cool you can get an upgrade kit for TFC combiner" This has happened with Hercules, Uranos and I would not be surprised at all if they do the same with Ares.

i'm not saying I have a hate on for TFC. I personally don't like the look of some of their designs. I do have their products like Photron which is pretty neat and their Iron Army which I regret getting in hindsight.

Go wih MT as I think thats a good choice. At least scale wise it will be good with their future release of Quatron

Good luck with your decision.

Lol, I have both. I like Hercules for the combined mode especially with the upgrade, and Maketoys has amazing robot modes that scale with my classic collection.
