And the Jedi were not bumbling and useless.

I, for one, always thought Jedi were supposed to be superhuman if they had such physical and mental power and the MicroSeries paid off in spades.

I've only seen snippets of the current CW series so I cannot say whether their depiction of Jedi was as satisfying.

Reason: I don't think it was incompetence on his part in Ep 5. I think he did his best to help the Rebels without being one, ie trying to dissuade the fleet going to Hoth, and dropping out of Hyperspace at a distance to raise the automatic alarms at Echo Base.
Cool wish list, but Ozzel was simply the Derpy Hooves of the Imperial Navy. Sure, he never pissed his pants in fear of a Force choke from Vader. But that same arrogance was his ultimate undoing. Besides, Captain Piett was tired of being Ozzel's bitch so it was win/win for everyone !*

*Until that A-Wing slammed into the bridge of the Super Star Destroyer Executor during the Battle of Endor killing Piett and all his piss-pants, Shakespearian classicly-trained, British cronies

Sure all the Jedi and Sith was over the top, but the Clones/Battle Droids and space battles were great...even though at times it was over the top.

L8-L9 and that arena battle before Ventress came was great too.

This one was the better of the two, but the same man who created Samurai Jack is behind this, so that's why.

I loved the 2003 Genndy series, but it was easy too. Really small doses with numerous characters made it work so well.
