This is the Hasbro, Toys R Us exclusive.
I just played with it.

It never transformed quite right. The car mode leg panelling never lined up and in hind sight it was because this leg was bent.

Transforming only caused the joint to snap.

Repair is impossible. I can fix the joint, never to transform again, return to TRU, or hope to some day find a good leg in a junk bin and repair this baby. Thank you for all your tears!

The engineering is marvelous on it. Its not a POS.

QA is not design. As function - Hot Rod - it captures everything about the character that could be put into plastic form.

But the toy is flawed. Therefore it fails. At least at being a true toy of the year. That's like naming a good but not excellent goalie with a losing record for the Vezina. It's wrong.
