5hr lay-over in Toronto

It'll be my first time going to, and through, Toronto.
Just wondering if there are any good places to hunt for figures, or shop really, around the Pearson International Airport?
Some input would be a good way towards the right direction heh.

Thanks! XD

Are you going to have access to a car? Transit in the area is not the best.

Nopers, unfortunately.
Was kinda curious if they had a system similar to Vancouver in BC. Pretty much get anywhere of note to and from the airport.

From T O, Pearson may as well be on the moon. But, Mattel apparently has a virtual store in the airport and Hasbro Canada's HQ is pretty close by.

Re: 5hr lay-over in Toronto

Oops, sorry! 401 Toys & Silver Snail comics are close to each other on Yonge St. Once downtown the subway gets one around quite quickly. Getting there by cab is pricey, but there is probably a $20-30 shuttle. Transit to and from Pearson could be as little as 30-45 minutes each way, but you'd really have to give yourself twice that leaving you about a hour in TO. It could be done, but it would be to tight and a screw up could cost you a plane ticket change.

There is a shopping area across from the airport entrance, but i dont know about toy stores there. BUT I haven't been there for several years. Maybe someone who still is could weigh in?

Re: 5hr lay-over in Toronto

There is now a train service between Pearson and downtown Union Station.
https://www.upexpress.com/

Once downtown, there are two Toys Toys Toys locations within walking distance (Simcoe Place and TD Center), and a third at Eaton Center (http://www.toyscubed.com).
Silver Snail is close by Eaton Center as well.
Up Chinatown is AnimeExtreme.

Yeah, if you can make the time, the pearson express is an option, but for only 5 hrs, you might not have a huge amount of time downtown.

Re: 5hr lay-over in Toronto

depends on the time that you're getting in.
if your layover is in the middle of the afternoon - you're sorta f*cked. doesn't matter where you're going because traffic is crud. you're not going anywhere quickly and i'm sure you'll realize by the time you get to where you want to go - heading back will be a panicky situation. Give a time frame and we can give you better results.

Also i'm sure there are a lot of SilverSnail fans -but it's not worth going to on a time crunch. You're better off going to a walmart or toysus. Even going to ..Mr.Crocodile -yellow store whatever his name is .. in Woodbridge would probably be a better option.
