Re: Please don't play with your toys in the panel room.
As someone who is guilty as charged with fiddling with toys, apologies for it seeming inconsiderate. I'll admit it's never something that I contemplated before, given I'm at a convention dedicated to, well, toys.
From my perspective, I'm the type where though I'm pretty attentive in panels, I tend to want to have something for my hands to idly fiddle with. It's not that I'd rather TF a toy than watch a panel, but rather that I'm idly doing it while I'm watching a panel. After all, it's typically a situation where I got something neat in the dealer room that I can't wait to fiddle around with.
That said, I will acknowledge that of all the things for fiddling, ratcheted toys I can see as supremely annoying. Are Deluxes/anything that doesn't really have ratchets that much of a noisemaker? (As typically, if I'm thinking about it, I try to avoid fiddling with anything that has ratchets in it). I know I tend to conciously avoid making too much noise by avoiding stuff with ratchets when I can.
(And apologies about that Shockwave back in 09. No idea that he was so annoying... after all, as memory serves he doesn't actually have any loud joints or anything. Or was it just the fact that I had one?)
EDIT: And I'm pretty sure I just shot myself in the foot by even posting. There goes plausible deniability :P
