Seekers Questions

Seekers is a made up name by the fanbase. Originially, the're juste called Jets. So let's go back to this whole Seekers thing. The Seekers also if you want to call them the Decepticon Jets, has the following characters, Starscream, Thundercracker, Skywarp, Ramjet, Thrust, Dirge, Acid Storm, Sunstorm, just to name a few. But can Cyclonus, Scourge, and the Sweeps can be considered Seekers? Cause, I am currently reading Infestation and Galvatron goes " Seekers Transform and support me" speaking to Cyclonus and Scourge.

Re: Seekers Questions

Not sure that this was entirely "made up" by the fans although certainly popularized by them. At any rate, "seekers" has at least been official since 2002 (the war within).

In answer to your question, the defining characteristic of the seekers appears to be shared body-type. If that is so, than Cyclonus and Scourge would not be seekers because they do not share a mold.

Also, we know that Scourge's crew were the "sweeps" not the "seekers".

The problem with that statement is that you were reading Infestation....

Re: Seekers Questions

So if they're known as Seekers in Infestation, then it's safe to say they are considered Seekers?

Re: Seekers Questions

Weren't Scourgeand the sweeps and (and Cyclonus and his non existent armada) seeking something? that would make them seekers. Not really sure why the Decepticon jets are called seekers. It seems to be applied to all flying jet like Transformers, as I recall Jetfire being referred to as seeker in Fall of Cybertron (the book)

No, it's safe to say the writer of Infestation is more likely an idiot

Re: Seekers Questions

According to tfwiki the origin of the Seeker name appears to be official. It first appeared in a JCPenny add referring to the original three jets.

http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Seeker_(body-type)

For myself, I always thought the term came from a phrase used by Megatron in the original three episodes of the cartoon where he told the jets to "seek" out the Autobots and destroy them.

But I can't seem to find a clip of it, so my memory may be off.
