I was able to order the Takara deluxe Crosshairs and new Bee from Hobby Link Japan for less then retail of the Hasbro versions (including shipping). Just a thought.

Dang wish I would've checked out HLJ sooner. They currently have Takara TLK Voyager Nitro for about $41 CAD but there sold out @ the moment.

I can answer from previous experiences (I hope tahts ok, I know the question wasnt directed at me).

The standard shipping if you want to save money is SAL which takes anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months. It's cheaper than 3 day shipping because it uses up the leftover extra space on cargo planes and the like so you have to wait until there is space available.

With HLJ there is guaranteed customs on anything over 100$ CDN. Unlike other sites like Nippon Yassan (DO NOT SEARCH FOR NITRO ON THAT SITE AT WORK, lessons learned) and Anime Export, HLJ declares everything. So just getting 2 deluxes works out well since it goes under the customs radar (still not a guarantee it will though, you never know). But something like Legend Trypticon will land you customs duties for sure.

Personally, I buy in advance from Anime Export, its the most canada friendly Japanese site I have ever been to. The only problem is you have to pay upfront but I find the savings are worth it if you are sure not to cancel.

For MPs, forgive me for saying it but, you'd be a fool not to preorder them from a Japanese site. Saves you a big chunk of money and there are many trusted Japanese sites.

As much as I want to support Canadian retailers like a3u automaton etc they are all just middle men. So they order from Asia then you order from them so you will pay the markup. Tf direct is the only one that is semi competitive. I buy all from anime export and ship in lots.
