Re: My cat died, so i'm gettinhg drunk
Sorry to hear about your loss. If you follow the old superstitions, everything happens in 3's. So if this loss is the 3rd, I hope you have smooth saling ahead.

Re: My cat died, so i'm gettinhg drunk
When I can't even assume to understand what your going through. So all I can offer to you is what everyone else would already have told you. However, perhaps once you have greived for a while; you could get another cat and name it after the other cat or someone you want to remember.
PS: For a clean drunk, try Skull Voldka. Its expensive, around $50, but its smooth.

Sorry to hear it. I would offer some cliche line like everything happens for a reason, but I'm sure your past that...

Aw, I'm sorry to hear about all of the loss you've had to go through. I've suffered multiple deaths in the family this year, myself, so I've been there. :/
...
That's it, I've decided to adopt you. Pack your bags!

Re: My cat died, so i'm getting drunk
Thanx everyone.
I'm not ashamed to admit that i got pretty drunk and balled my eyes out for about 3 hours. it just wasn't my one cat that did it, it was the culmination of years of sadness. it brought back memories i had with my mom and the cats, my grandmother too even.
The cat who had to be put down yesterday was our first. he came to us abandoned and we took him in under the condition that he still be in the yard when we got back from a day trip the day after we found him. There he was, sitting on the step waiting for us only hours after even coming into our yard. my mother ate her words, and we took him in. Leon was a miracle to our family. he brought a joy into our house that made it tolerable to live there. Before him, things were not happy. it was tense, and always serious.
This cat brought our family together, and brought joy into it. Even my grandmother, who HATED all animals eventually gave in and put a photo of him on her mantle.
we took in more cats, and lost another last year, but Leon passing yesterday was the hardest yet because of the significance of his life and effect he had on me.
We don't celebrate xmas anymore in my family because of all the sickness that we've had to deal with, and one death on Dec 23rd 3 years ago. we spent so much time in hospital, that we just don't bother to decorate anymore. now there are only me and 2 aunts left, so we don't bother.
It was a rough 5 years, and lastnight was so hard because, as cliche as it may sound, the keystone of our family, Leon, finally left us, and went to stay with my mom.
