I could see the GM licensing on a lot of the movie figures being a problem too.
Wonder if that's why we haven't seen more use of the alternators molds? Hmm, but they have had some con exclusives, may be some other reason.
Does Hasbro have to make a new agreement for each reuse of a fgure with a licensed alt-mode?

Partly why it's being repainted so much is the recent 3 mainlines (Movie 2007/TF:A/ROTF) have molds that can't be used by companies outside of Hasbro, so nothing from FunPub.
