Hey guys,

Happy to clear this up.

There are two separate but parallel programs in play on ShelfLife currently:

1) Collector Score/Collector Level

2) Collector Wars

The short explanation is that both are intertwined, as they both reward a broad swath of potential site activities with a bias towards folks who bring in more users, build out catalogs (ie curate), or collect like crazy (especially buying/selling). If you examine the points awarded during Collector Wars seasons, the relative weight of these things is pretty clear.

However, while Collector Wars is on a 30 day cycle, Collector Score and Collector Level are on a 90 day cycle, similar to how Klout score measures social media influence. So if you score a bunch of points, but 90 days go by, you'll start dropping, BUT there is a 3 level plateau, so if you hit Level 8 you will never drop below Level 5. The idea is to ensure high performing users are never fully locked out of reengaging at a high level.

Now at present, your Collector Wars score matters more than your longer term Collector Score/Level.

However, moving forward, when we start offering additional exclusives, they will often ONLY be available to higher Collector Score levels, which your 30 day score may not help you with.

We are also working on a variety of rewards programs style benefits to your 90 day score, including access to vendor discounts, exclusive industry events, etc.

Hope that helps!

A huge thanks to all of you who have made ShelfLife the fastest growing collector community on the planet in 2012....we look forward to blowing your minds in 2013.

Re: ShelfLife Beta Test Announcement: Very Exciting Stuff

My Avast started freaking out today when adding new items to my catalogs. "http://d1ros97qkrwjf5.cloudfront.net/42/..." seems to be triggering it.

I'm not overly concerned, but if this is happening to other users with less PC awareness, they may flip out.

Hey Razin. That's a bit odd. Which pages does it happen on, and what're the full URLs that Avast is complaining about?

Thanks!
Nick

It was happening when I was editing catalogs, ie. adding photos.

Fixed! Thanks for letting us know about this, razin. Much appreciated.

Another issue I have when using Chrome (no prob in IE) is when I click on "Have", it brings up the window to enter the details, however the window requires scrolling to reach the "Have" button to complete the entry. The scroll bar is unavailable as this entry window seems to disable the background window.

Well right now its TMNT vintage, but in the past I've had it happen on TF Prime and Generations catalogs.

I don't know who is curating the Takara Robots In Disguise catalog but they need a kick in the pants. It's been since at least last September and there has been absolutely no progress made on it.

Good catch. You game to curate it?
