When you have a want posted and someone pms you saying they have it and are asking 2 or 3 times the retail price for the figure?

I can't believe the difference in price you can find from one collector to the next.

I used to think my tfs were worth more before I joined this site.

supply and demand. don't buy the expensive stuff and the price will come down. I don't sell my figures because to me they are actually worth more than retail price and I would have a hard time letting go.

Naw, not really. If a person is determined to sell a certain item at a certain price, then... good for them. If the price is too high, I do not buy. If your wanted items are recent items that can be easily found in other stores, then 2-3x ths price is pretty bad. But for older, rarer stuff it's pretty common. I was lucky to get a Henkei Rodimus for less than double retail a week or two ago. So, if somebody gives you an offer you don't want to pay, just let it slide and be on your way.

Sometimes; I'd move quick on limited stuff, it'll almost always go up. Mass produced stuff though? Ya you're good waiting

I wouldn't say offended but more annoyed.

It's annoying to have people quote you evilbay prices with and without shipping.

If you're looking for deals you have dig through peoples for sale threads and look for them as they won't come looking for you...that's what I've learned anyways.

I don't get offended. It's their property, they have a right to ask what they want. Will they get it? Who knows. All I know is that if I want something, I have a set idea of what I am wiling to pay for something and if it's higher than I want to pay, I move on.

This whole idea that someone has to sell you something at what you consider a reasonable price is ridiculous. In fact, that offends me more.

if it's a "regular" item,then yeah,but if it's a "rare" item,then i'd understand the pricing.
and by rare i don't mean it was a mass retail release a year ago.i mean something that's either a convention or out of country exclusive,then i don't mind paying extra.but if it's something that was released in the states but not here,the most i'd pay is probably double the original retail,not triple.

keep shopping around the site.your bound to find a good deal.
i've found many over the years here.
just keep in mind that when someone doesn't post their prices in their sales threads,chances are that they want an arm or a leg for it so you may want to shy away from it.

I don't get offended. It's their stuff and they can ask what ever they want for it. BUT it's my right to roll my eyes, chuckle, and to not pay that price. I know it's hard to wait for things, but in general, for mass produced stuff, if you're patient you'll be able to find what you want for a reasonable price, even on ebay.
