I feel like they should have taken the Generations Metroplex, spice that up and release that instead. Probably would sell way better than this.

I'm really torn on this toy. I love TFs in general, and I enjoyed the Unicron Trilogy as they came out, but I am a G1 to BW generation fan. This definitely feels like the first toy that I will specifically wait for an inevitable sale. It happened with Ark (and I was okay to buy him full price originally) and pretty much every other titan other than Scorp and Omega, so it seems likely to happen with Metroplex.

But waiting for sales is tricky, isn't it. You have to hit a sweet spot. Trypticon, Metroplex and Fort Max all hit sale prices at different points (poor Trypticon went really low at one point and I paid full price for him) and now are really expensive to get...
