Re: Transformers quality control issues of 2011
My problems with DOTM Leader Sentinel Prime:
- hard to balance the bot mode standing... the top back is too heavy and the hip, knee, and ankle joints aren't tight enough to hold him standing without leaning somewhat forward
- the shield... that centre piece of the shield doesn't stay down... keeps poping up ... anyone else with that problem? Any suggestions how to keep the shield flat and locked together?

No that's the instructions showing you options. They show you both options and you pick one. That's what I heard about Kre-o big Optimus on WTF@TFW.

For problem 1, taking the batteries out will probably help towards balancing issues (while mine had perfectly tight joints taking the batteries out makes it easier to stand)
Problem 2, you could always just take the spring out if you have to resort to that. Also I find that collapsing the shield via the side panels first and then the blaster bit last helps.

Re: Transformers quality control issues of 2011
Cyberverse Hatchet came with only one gun/missile thingy. Looking at the package, I suppose it's possible that someone fished it out.
MP Rodimus had an impact spiderweb on his rear car windshield. This lies under the robot chest, so it couldn't be seen in package. The chest wasn't clipped in so I'm guessing the impact happened during shipment. Took it back.

Re: Transformers quality control issues of 2011
Got a brand new sealed RTS Windcharger from a fellow board member at Metrocon and it wasn't until today that I decided to transform the thing. The thing is, the left leg wouldn't fold up right, something was off. Turns out when the pin fired, it wasn't lined up to the hole.....
Had to use a soldering iron to help remove the front leg armour that was pinned in the back so I could get at the pin on the knee. With that off, it took some time to knock out the pin and in the process cause stress marks in the dark grey lower leg. That's all I've done so far.
I'm thinking of trying to stretch the intended knee hole until the pin slides in right then fill in the QC hole with superglue or something. Nothing I can do about the stress mark. Then hopefully, it should be a easy matter of putting everything back together and functional.
edit: Oh, and he has some paint QC (2 mm streak) on the black painted window. Fantastic.

That's sad! You seem to have a decent plan for trying to fix it though. Best of luck.

Re: Transformers quality control issues of 2011
Some quality issues I had this year...
DOTM Specialist Ratchet has spotty white paint apps, half of his face looks half painted. His rack on the back section of his backpack likes to pop off, it seems to curve slightly.
I had some quality issue with some of my Human Alliance Basics:
Icepick: His tigh swivel was completely innexistant due to an excess of glue (and stuck pointing inward), I had to take a tiny screwdriver and unscrew the white pieces of his upper legs until I could move the black part around and unstuck it. I've tightened the screws back and everything seems fine now.
Whirl: one of his missile pod (the c-clip bars on his legs) shows signs of plastic stress, with one strut already snapped like it was missing plastic. I don't put the c-clip weapons there anymore.
Tailpipe & Pinpointer: Pinpointer has a strange swirl in the blastic of one of his larger back pieces (I could see it through the packaging but it was the only one in the store so I went with it anyway) and Tailpipe himself could use some nail polish on his hips balljoints because they are way too loose and he won't keep an actiony pose without doing the split.
That's all I remember for this year.
