Re: Rodimus Prime (Classics)

I got to admit, Toby.
I totally was digging this til the trailer/backpack thing.
I got to agree with Chris, I think it takes away from the great job you did.
Kinda one of those 5 pounds of shit in a 2 pound bag deals.

That is true, however oftentimes it's the method with which the message is delivered that makes the difference between it being seen as constructive criticism and being seen as "harsh."

I think the add-on works great as an accessory in 'bot mode, moreso than it does in vehicle mode. However, if you were going for more of a Cybertronian-mode motif for the alt mode, then it's a better fit in that regard.

Re: Rodimus Prime (Classics)

I think it looks okay, its well done and I think it's a nice update. It's just not my cup of tea overall...

Not just the jetpack/engine/trailer thing but the custom as a whole. It is well done, and I like it asa piece but its not for me.

And I agree with CJ - I don't do many customs admittedly but I do try to take the good with the bad. My entry for the Sector 70 Headmaster comment had several negative comments in it, and I appreciated them all the same. They were telling the truth anyways.

Re: Rodimus Prime (Classics)

The back pack thing reminds me of Energon Rodimus with his jet truck thingy. To me it seems like a unique take on the classics prime mold, with or without the back pack. Since back pack's removable, I think of it like a bonus, and although not perfect, it fits with the Rodimus character and his previous 'official' incarnations.

Completely true. There's ways of saying it constructively instead of harsh comments.

Yah, I agree. To be honest, I found the original custom, 'Red lone boxy truck' didn't capture the classic Rodimus look that to me was more of a sleek cab with some back trailer.

Given that, I think the new trailer works, and is very true to the G1 alt mode 'gun station'.

Unfortunately it's a double-edged sword. While it satisfies the trailer aspect, it puts the focus back on the boxy cab.

But regardless, it's an awesome custom!

Re: Rodimus Prime (Classics)

Maybe I should have noted that this was my 3rd custom ever! the pack was a "why not" thing made out of junk parts I had laying around . whether it's harsh or not I sold this to get some $ for a protector so I'm at least half way there I didn't need 2 rodimi
