I remember seeing a Soundwave city Transformer that was a triple changer, but he was too expensive for me at the time. I'll have to pass on Airwave if I see that one because it looks like another take apart to transform Transformer. Am I right about that?

You are. Both Airwave and Ironworks use the same gimmick of being taken apart to re-assemble into a base for micromasters or chunks of armor for other bots.

That blows. When I asked a clerk about Ironworks, he related to a Rubik's cube; but you don't take those apart. Hopefully I'll have enough money saved up if I see a Trypticon in Wal-Mart or something.

Ollie's discount outlet appears to be more of a northeast US chain, but if you get the chance, should check it out instead
Last year it was (allegedly) all the rage, people reported finding TR Trypticon at Ollie's for ridiculous prices ($40, $50 US)

You won't find trypticon in stores anymore your best bet is ebay or here.
