Rotf leader megatron customizing question

Just thinking about modding rotg megs gimp arm to put in an elbow and putting his head on a ball joint. will bionicle ball joints be a good choice for this?

Re: Rotf leader megatron customizing question

I've used Bionicle joints for a Bruticus head which is pretty large, so I would guess it will be fine for Leader Megs. As for the arm, the trick is blending the Bionicle joint into the new, less-gimpy arm...maybe your best bet is glue TF/armor-like parts onto the lego arm of correct length rather than attach/blend it into the TF parts.

Either way you will find those joints sturdy enough for arms, provided they are not entirely made of putty.

Re: Rotf leader megatron customizing question

I don't have picture of my custome ROTF Leader Meg but what I did was replacing the right cannon "arm" with the left arm of movie 1 leader Meg. So he has an articulated right arm that looks more like this:

Re: Rotf leader megatron customizing question

I have a bionicle leg with ball joint attached to his waist for toration as well as for his neck neck on a balljoint. It's easy to make too. Just use a ballend bit and a dremel and boom, instant ball joint. I didnt relize I deleted a lot of pics off Photobucket so here is the apparently one and only ROTF Megs I have on that site. Apparently it's a bit older as i've done a bit more to it since then

Kinda shows his waist articulation but not so much the head. His inner torso has room for parts like making balljoints.

Considering using the elbow joint from from springer from the "standoff beneath the streets" 2 pack...its a ratcheting joint plus a swivel...any thoughts?
