Re: MP-10 re-release listing up on Toysrus.ca

Yeah, this price is garbage. But when I go back in time and see what I paid for my MP10 reissue from BBTS, I think it came to around 200 or so...with the conversion, shipping, and almost 100% zing at the border for taxes.

That said...there's no way they should be pricing these for more than 150 CDN. No MP is worth that, IMO, especially this one. There was that drought right after his initial release where we saw him go for 250 on ebay (and that was considered a good price!) but as we have seen, Takara has no problem reissuing them.

I'm interested in seeing what the packaging is like, in a way. I don't really care for the way the long, see-through packaging for the first run stores. I much prefer traditional Takara style boxes. And it seems Hasbro is finally making them a little smaller these days.

I'm sure this guy won't see shelves, much like Starscream. If he were only available at Walmart or other stores (like CW Devastator was) then maybe you'd see some price wars going on. But as it stands, they could cut this price in half and I'd still balk.

WTF am I even thinking, I already own one and I'm considering buying it? WHAT IS THIS WITCHCRAFT?!@?!

Re: MP-10 re-release listing up on Toysrus.ca

Just be patient for the inevitable price drop after two to three months. MP Bumblebee dropped to a reasonable price after shelf-warming for a while. And the price was even better during the buy one at regular price and the second one at half price for all clearance items (if you're like me and like to display the figures in both modes). The only drawback was that you were buying boxes that were in bad shape.

Re: MP-10 re-release listing up on Toysrus.ca

Well if the online availability of MPM Bumblebee is any indicator, MP10 just might be a hot ticket item

Although now I kinda see the reason for Bee: you know that once these are sold out, fans will pay 200 for them around Christmas...or beyond.

Not so much wiggle room for MP10, but...I wonder when the link for MPM Prime will go up at TRU? Wonder how he will compare in price to MP10.

$230 Canadian. More than twice the price of the original 2012 release. Maybe someone should let TRU know there hasn't been 230% inflation in the past five years.

Ooooooooh I'm DYIIIIIIIING!

The preorder for him at ages three and up is 184.99 so i would assume the same because theu had mpm bumblebee for the same price as tru did.

Re: MP-10 re-release listing up on Toysrus.ca

MP 10's price has been steadily climbing from the initial $100 it went for. During last hasbro rerelease, I dont remember anyone hating on the $160 USD price BBTS had it at. That would make it around $200 in today`s exchange and many collectors (some here including myself) bought it at that price (plus shipping). He was then rereleased by Takara and available for $191 USD from importers and he got sold out too https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Produ...nDetails/14415

Thats the equivalent to $245 Canadian before shipping and customs fees. And its sold out. So of course TRU would price it at this price which fans have willingly bought it at. Not saying its a good price (though better than what people have paid through standard channels) but explaining why its not the worst or in any way different to what people have paid for this toy recently. Just explaining where the price comes from.

And the comparison to the price of MP 10B is idiotic because that figure doesnt even come with the trailer, unlike this MP 10 reissue.

Re: MP-10 re-release listing up on Toysrus.ca

Honestly I think TRU knows that they can "overcharge" for their exclusives in the first few months because they know that some collectors are "I WANT IT RIGHT NOW NO MATTER WHAT" (i.e. charge a premium to "first movers").

After that they will lower the price to a more "normal price" so they can actually sell the rest of them.

The Takara MP-10 reissue in 2015 what $200 shipped.. so this $230 is not terrible...
