If this is G1 and going for a reasonable price, then you have found yourself a beautiful specimen to potentially buy but I would definitely ask for pictures of the other sides of the box and a few more of the figure itself then do some more research of the high end counterfeit TF websites (or the boards) to be sure. I'd hate to see you lose out on it if it's legit but you'll kick yourself if it ends up being a knock off.

Correct but it is difficult to see it unless you put it in direct light, doors opened its not that apparent in vehicle mode by this I mean it doesnt draw you eye to it, the white on Red would enhance this by the way and be more noticable.. as for color fadeout on the metal no not on G1 stuff (that i have come across not even the Japanese/European pieces) they seem at least on G1 that takara and hasbro at that time had tight controls over QC issues and took pride in there product, not like there laxness since those days I will say however that G2 paint on metal was a different case I have seen fadeout here (much like mattels hotwheels) where its almost like the paint was running out and is almost like ghosting,.. probably due to TFs winding down at that point ( prior to BW) and end of run issues.
