Question Opinions on FT Insecticons - All 3 of them

Hi

I've been looking at the Fans Toys Insecticons for a while now: Mercenary, Forager and Grenadier.

Anyone own these here? Thoughts on quality? Same/different then MP?

Thanks
Kev

The Fans Toys Insecticons are great figures. The plastic quality is on par if not greater than MP and they have a lot of die-cast. So in a nut shell, they are as good as I could imagine the G1 Insections (in a Masterpiece scale and aesthetic) being. Great price too imo.

I have them, and like them, and I don't find their transformation is too difficult (than MP).
However since I didn't have BC insecticons, I'm wondering if BC set are also good.

I'd actually put the plastic in this order, better to worse:

- the plastic pieces on the ends of shoelaces
- the plastic eggs you get out of the $1 machines at the grocery store
- grocery store plastic bags
- Wal-mart plastic bags
- bubblegum
- Masterpiece plastic quality

I don't know how you could even compare Masterpiece plastic to FansToys, that's ridiculous. They're not even close.

FansToys is probably the highest quality figure producer available right now, they're way ahead of anything licensed and in my opinion they're also better than MMC and MakeToys. The transformations are very fun, though in the case of the Insecticons I thought they were actually lacking a little bit. There's a weird transformation with the legs on Forager where a lot of owners broke their figures but that's the only one I found this with. I have all 3 and they're better than anything Hasbro / Takara could release.

If they're anything like badcube then they are good. Badcube insecticons are superb, transformation is easy and smooth and no hiccups or scary spots and the plastic is great. Even the chrome finish is solid.
so if everyone says ft are better than they MUST be .

The plastic on MP releases have varied a lot. I do agree that Fans Toys uses the best plastic out there, but I specifically said that it is greater if not on par... so I wasn't saying they were same. He specifically asked for a comparison between MP and FT quality. I guess I can't praise Fans Toys enough for everyone... sorry chum.

Re: Opinions on FT Insecticons - All 3 of them

I have all three and I would recommend them very highly! However there is a common flaw on Forager,(Kickback). The grasshopper wing, when you transform from bug to bot you have to be VERY careful. The way it is designed is basically a plastic "C" that folds in around itself to lock the wing in position. It is quite common for this to break. It still holds up and everything but is broken, on mine anyway. FT does even mention that it is a very delicate piece and to be very careful right in the instructions.

You can't go wrong with FT insecticons. I have all three and the dinobots also, and love them all. I can't imagine what Takara can do to make a better version for that price with die-cast.
