maybe when the series end and walmart still have a stock pile of figures from that series. an example is when Cybertron ended, I remember seeing a lot of the figures go on clearance for half price or less.

This is really a valuable information that I will keep in mind and write on my agenda . Thanks, man.
I don't mind if all my modification could wait until half price ^^".
I guess we wont see any TF Movie 2 figures in the market before Christmas this year. As there are already 3 TF series on the market now.

Re: about recently Transformers sales
because the low Canadian dollar value make the total import fee higher, some local toy/model Canadian store actually have to increase the retail price to respond the necessary change. I guess now might be the good time to buy some model-kit rather than later?

Re: about recently Transformers sales
That's a good point TFToys. Certainly at one point some places were charging american prices rather than Canadian ones on comic books for a while. I don't think anyone is doing that anymore, so for some things (model kits, and other things you find at hobby stores), now might be a good time to buy.

Re: about recently Transformers sales
generally the toy industry does 75%
to 80% of its sales in 25% of the year.
between mid september
to mid january.
if a toy does not sell in this time period,
it will likely not sell at regular price afterwards.
so rather than discounting after the season,
move the discounts to before christmas,
increase sales volume,
and reduce inventory holding costs.

Your logic and argument is "right on the money"!
Unfortunately, the Canadian retail stores do not necessarily think like you do. If they did, life would be wonderful!

Re: about recently Transformers sales
I don't think Wal-mart is very concerned with their toy sales. They are in fact, the retailer that is in the best financial situation than all over retailers. Recession = more focus on value-based products.
Why do you think Wal-mart and Campbell's Soup stocks go in the opposite direction when the market dips?
I've actually gotten so many more emails from retails of sales and promotions more than any other time before. Pretty good for a consumer if you're not affected too much by the recession.
