This is the type of thing you should be looking for.
Not sure how familiar you are with pin removal, but also make sure you are pushing it out from the correct end. One end of the pins are thicker and textured to keep them in place. You should be pushing from the opposite end of that, so it comes out first. Then you can pull it out with pliers as the rest of the pin is smooth.

The most important thing you’ll have to keep I mind is to not let the punch slip. That’s how you’re going to end up damaging the figure.

It's to bad they didn't put these things on ball joints. You could get some really neat spirals going if they had.
