Transformers Masterpiece MP-12 Knock-Offs
Hey guys, my first post in this forum...
So I found this eBay auction for an MP-12 Lambor (Sideswipe) KO version with a buy-it-now price of $40 USD. I figured what the heck, worth a shot for only $40.
I received it within a week and a half, and it came from Hong Kong with free shipping, so not bad shipping time.
The box it came in is identical to the original Masterpiece MP-12 box, plastic tray and all. Even the hologram sticker under the box with the manufacturer version was there.
The KO version is really good quality, so much so that you could sell this as a real one and the buyer wouldn't even know unless they had an original before. This is truly scary, beware of scams out there.
The big differences that found were:
- the autobot symbol on the chest was slightly off center,
- the left shoulder was at a slight angle so the missile launcher doesn't sit straight if placed on the left shoulder,
- the chest/front hood, when pegged into the connecting slot in robot mode slightly lifts the back so he looks a bit slouched over,
- the gun does not sit very securely in his hand.
None of these issues really affect the overall look and feel of the toy if you are just going to display it.
I will attach a picture once I figure out how to reduce the picture quality on the camera of this new phone.

Re: Transformers Masterpiece MP-12 Knock-Offs
I have recently got to check the K.O in hand and I have to say I am not sure what this guy is saying as it is pretty easy to spot this K.O as there was no tape on the box which is always a bad sign when buying official the hologram is there but has no 3d affect to it and when you pull out the plastic tray to inspect said figure is has no black trim around the headlights and does say cantach on the back now if there is more than one K.O company making this then there might be a difference between the 2 so if anyone would have info on it let us know. I did not transform it as it was not mine and I was only checking it out so I did not see if he had the inferno head

I've seen close ups like that on other sites. I think that for half the price of the real deal you do get a decent value. I am waiting on KO Red Alert to see what the problems are with it and if they are worth the cost.

Re: Transformers Masterpiece MP-12 Knock-Offs
I'm not sure if this is a repost or not but I saw this on another site and thought it may be of interest to some. It shows one of the tell-tale differences between the Takara and the KO box.
