Re: Target is leaving canada

Can I use my target gift card to buy a gift card to another store? I'd much rather a TRU card to go against YOTH Prime or something like that.

Their website doesn't say you can't, it should be treated like cash.

From their website;

"No, unfortunately Target GiftCards cannot be redeemed for prescription drugs, certain other pharmacist-dispensed items and purchases at Target Mobile."

This is pretty standard corporate business practice nowadays.

Look on the bright side. At least it's a private company and not another golden parachute for a crown exec from the Canadian government using our tax dollars.

Yep when they should have gone to jail for breaking the law.

Re: Target is leaving canada

Unfortunately most of that severance that CEO is getting was probably agreed upon when Target signed them to their contract. It sucks but it's a bit like how they sign high priced athletes.

The Target employees at the Target in my city are understandably unhappy and look pretty tense. Hope they land on their feet somewhere. The employees were always nice and polite unlike some other retailers.

That guy is truly living the American dream of getting filthy rich while screwing over everyone in your wake. Golden parachute indeed.

The CEO of Target US is the one that is really living the dream: Keeps his job after botching the expansion and then attempting to blame customers in Canada for the expansion's failure. It wouldn't have been the promise of a Target US experience and instead giving us Zellers 2.0 but with stale stock or no stock at all.

Re: Target is leaving canada

Target emailed me to say Toys are now 30% off. Sales are 25-40% in general.

Re: Target is leaving canada

Can someone explain why they need people on the corners holding signs saying they're closing?

Does anyone not already know?
