Re: How much

depends on if there is a lot your looking for or how much you want to spend.

isnt really a way to tell really.

last year i didnt think there was much i wanted but ended up spending like $500 or so lol.

this year im broke as heck so unless i get stupid and use mr. visa at the bank machine i wont be spending much. thank god there really isnt anything im really looking for that i dont already have.

Re: How much

Ya, no real answer to this. I just know that the $100 I spent last year was my lowest ever (OK, $100 plus the....$150? for pre-reg and Power Commander). Not for lack of selection, just a lack of funds and items I really wanted. This year is shaping up the same as I will wait for retail of generations and have pre-ordered the items that may be released before the Con. But, if I can find a good price for the 5 G1 figures I need, that would be nice!

Re: How much

Unfortunately my G1 collection is on the small side, so I may end up buying a lot. Luckily, there isn't really anything, other than a few BW figs that I want other than G1.

Re: How much

the first time i went(08)i spent a few grand, moreso to complete alot of figs/etc.

second year(09)i spent maybe half as much cause i have almost all lines complete except for a few odd balls here and there.
this year i'll probably spend maybe a couple hundred finding the left over odd balls.
just remember to bring as much cash in hand as possible,
the atm there goes empty pretty damn quick

Re: How much

If you want to buy lots of complete G1 items, yeah, bring a few grand, most of them cost $60 to $120 each, complete. So the money goes very quickly.

All I would suggest is, don't get too super excited and buy the first of everything you see. Try and do some comparison pricing, and ALWAYS inspect the items thoroughly.

Last year I saved someone who was about to spend quite a bit of money on a bagged "complete" abominus, until I pointed out that sinnertwin's head was broken off and rattling around the bottom of the bag.

Re: How much

^ great advice Bruticus82

it's easy to get excitied and make some impulse buys, my first year at TFcon (07) I spent like crazy, probably $800 or more. The last two years I have been a bit more reserved.

You should make a list of the figures you want and what you are willing to pay for them, do some research, check ebay and see what these figures are going for.
Also, if you are prepared like this and you find a killer deal, you can justify picking up another figure.... that's how my mind works.
