Anyone have any experience with G1 KOs?

So I was looking for a G1 Bruticus last night, and caved on a set from china for $160 Canadian. Upon looking at it after paying, I'm almost positive it's a KO, and now I'm afraid it's going to be a pile of crap. Has anyone here gotten a G1 KO reproduction, and what's the level of quality I should expect?

Sorry if this is the wrong board for knockoff chat

Re: Anyone have any experience with G1 KOs?

I remember getting MISB KOs of all 5 G1 Dinobots, quality was terrible. I know some G1 KOs were better than others, one would think Bruticus would be have been easier to KO successfully than the Dinobots, but who knows...

I do not have much, but quality is hit an miss. I believe the G1 Burticus Ko is from an upgraded Mould so quality should be better. Did you buy the singles or the case pack?

Packing is a bit thin in weight.

I bought the singles, thinking that they where actually legit because the pictures where different from other listings.

I have the KO Dinobots and Shockwave. Only issue I had was the battery cover on Shockwave was fragile, as the silver plastic wings on Sludge. Other than that they were great for the price at the time.. But this was more than 8 years or more ago now.

Re: Anyone have any experience with G1 KOs?

I have several of the Chinese knock-offs, the five Dinobots, Superion, Octane, and the series 4 Decepticon Headmasters.

All are good for display purposes and limited play. The details on the figures seem fine to me, though I don't trust the figures not to break with repeated use, which is why they are display figures only really. But that includes most of my collection at this point.

The ONLY issue I had was that Air Raid's port where you insert either Superion's fist or foot is not molded properly and the accessory does not fit well.

It's unfortunate but with Hasbro showing so little interest in reissuing original series moulds then I think these are a decent and affordable way to fill in some collection gaps.

Hmm, I didn't find any threads for KO differences, but I didn't really look too hard. The seller I bought off of was pretty good from the reviews they had, and it shipped pretty fast. So I should expect to do a little fixing to get them up to snuff worse case scenario.

Here's the specific one I bought:

Re: Anyone have any experience with G1 KOs?

From 2014:

I got the whole set for $110 plus shipping a few weeks ago, and all figures have issues. I was hoping they'd be better, but they all feel like what they are, knockoffs, and not quality reissues.

Problems:
-Grimlock has loose lower t-rex legs, so in robot mode, the forearms want to slide out over the fists all the time
-Grimlock has a molding issue on his chest metal bar making it risky to move the chest up for robot mode because there isn't enough clearance
-Grimlock's sword won't fit because of extra plastic flash
-Slag has very loose fists that don't stay out
-Slag's weapons are loose in both fists
-Swoop has a very loose left wing
-Swoop's launchers don't fit at all his wings (posts are too wide and too long)
-Swoop's missiles were too long and rounded, had to cut the posts to fit
-Snarl's tail has molding issues and doesn't close properly
-Snarl's dino head also has molding issues and doesn't close properly
-Snarl's robot chest has a nasty gap in the middle
-Sludge's lower dino jaw moves more or less freely in the dino head
-several chroming issues on all 5 Dinobots, making the chrome black/dirty
