Kitbash MP Seekers

I've been posting these in the Masterpiece Appreciation and Speculation thread to share but decided to give them there own home in the customization forums.

These projects all started out earlier this year with Hasbro's release of MP Sunstorm and have grown from there. I wasn't happy with the way Hasbro's Sunstorm looked so I decided to give him a look more like the Botcon Rainmakers Sunstorm using parts from an extra Acidstorm and Thundercracker.

My second project was just to try creating something that had a uniform feel to it using the extra parts that I had accumulated from my previous project. I used some parts from Acidstorm and Sunstorm to create this monstrosity and was recommended to call it Fallout from jjwakenobi.

For my third project I used the left over Thundercracker parts with some extra parts from an extra Takara Sunstorm to creat this one.

These were my first real attempts at any sort of customizations other than just applying Reprolables and I am very proud of how they turned out.

I have plans to make some more MP Seekers and will continue to share those projects with this community.

Re: Kitbash MP Seekers

Thanks guys!

I did some more work on the Sunstorm project last night. I switched his legs with the Takara Sunstorm legs to give it a more uniform yellow appearance. Here's a pic with an unmoded Hasbro Sunstorm for a comparison.

Re: Kitbash MP Seekers

I did some more work on the seekers today. I switched up the forearms on the Sunstorm aka Sunburn and Acidstorm aka Fallout. I'm extremely pleased with the results.

Re: Kitbash MP Seekers

I was finally able to successfully switch the nose cones on Icestorm (Thundercracker) and Sunburn (Sunstorm) today.

I used the soldering iron method to heat up the pin that connects the nose cone to the fuselage then pulled it out with some needle nose pliers and used the same pliers to squeeze the pin back in with the new nose cone.

I was really apprehensive about using this method but after doing it I was surprised at how easy and effective it worked. I'm very pleased with the results!
