So it looks like MP-8X will come with a throne. Man this is tempting

Just trying to figure this out but hasn't the MP Grimlock mould been used more times now than the MP 11 mould?

I count 7 uses of the Grimlock mould including the upcoming release that comes with the throne and 6 uses of the MP 11 mould including the upcoming Hasbro Sunstorm.

The throne is not included by Takara and sold separately. But e-tailers are including it as a package with the MP-08X with higher shipping and extra cost.

I changed my preorder back to the version without the throne when I saw how underwhelming it looked for the extra money.

I don't think it really adds any true value to the figure.

While I am not getting this version of Grimlock, I will wait to see what the final product looks like, and if cheap enough I may get it for a goof to add to my previous MP Grimlock release.

$46 bucks for shipping. Looks to be the cheapest I've seen it so far.

I wonder if G2 Sideswipe may be a sign that more masterpiece G2 figures are coming. Maybe Megatron? I did read somewhere that the year of the Decepticon is upon us.

Well it's been stated by Shogo that the Masterpiece line homages the G1 Transformers and looks like they still have a lot of G1 Decepticons to do yet.

G2 Sideswipe was just a simple repaint, so no huge investment on Takaras part. So it possible that many of the G2 characters can just be repaints/retools of existing molds if Takara really wants to go in that direction.

But if there is any G2 character and new mold that has a good chance of making an appearance in the Masterpiece line, its G2 Megatron, as much as I want him to be a gun.

I wouldn't be surprised if G2 Grimlock comes either. that's just a simple repaint.

But let us old guys get our G1 Masterpieces first
