Re: ShelfLife Beta Test Announcement: Very Exciting Stuff

Hey guys, just a heads up on a bit of a security issue. Yesterday I was on SL on my Blackberry at work. Several hours later I logged in on my laptop at home and did some catalog stuff then logged out. This morning at work I opened up the internet on my BB again to discover that Shelflife was still open and logged in.

May want to consider an inactvity time-out, as well as only allowing one computer per user to be logged in at a time.

Thanks for the heads up. Will discuss with Nick and ensure we are industry standard on this. Generally I don't worry about multi-device access. All of the major sites allow this including Ebay, Paypal, Amazon, etc as it is getting more and more likely to be logged in with home PC, phone and IPAD within minutes.

Inactivity logout should be at least optional.

Thanks!

James

Hey guys, just wondering if you're ever planning on creating an app for Shelf life once it's up and running.

Yes, and quite the sexy apps they will be, but this is months away. However, the wait will be more than worth it. Details coming later this spring.

If you're going to make one for the playbook does that mean we can get one for webOS too?

Here's the likely order of mobile support:

1) Strong mobile version of site
2) Apple
3) Droid
4) Blackberry (dependent on how the stats shift in the market this year as we're planning)

Bottom line: We're committed to making mobile amazing for ShelfLife.
