We tried out the war option a few times, couldn't really get I go it. Maybe we should try again. It struck me when we did it that the game simply picked our weakest bases as the ones to get attacked and left some of our stronger ones on the sidelines. But I really don't know how it all works, or even why I got that vibe from it.
I enjoyed it when my base best someone from a tfw2005 Decepticon team a couple weeks back. Felt like a great victory

War is important through winning the war you can get spark to develop the robot's ability.

If you're in an alliance that do 2-3 wars per week, you can have weeks where you rake, as you move up though, you tend to lose more than win the following week when you face stronger opponents.
As a whole, you need to add stronger players to move up quicker. Otherwise, everyone has to grind and develop their rosters. There's a tendency to lose folks at that point. Especially at lower levels.
