That's weird, because both TFwiki and TFU.info state that the 2002 Japanese e-hobby version was the black/grey one. TFwiki even says people call it "anime streak" because it was cartoon accurate.

Guess they need to update their databases.

Re: TF Name Changes/Issues

It is mostly a Trademark issue rather than Copywrighting from what I understand... Certain names were not kept up in the Trademark department and so Hasbro had to find alternative ways to use similar names for the same characters.

Bluestreak became Silverstreak because Hasbro can't use the name Bluestreak anymore. It really doesn't bother me that much.

Skids became Skid-Z and then Autobot Skids.

Tracks and Jazz and Ratchet and others also suffer from this tacking on of Autobot to their names... Or Final Battle/Freeway/Turbo/Rescue/Nightwatch... That sort of thing.

The world of toys is a fascinating thing - in fact I think it's one of the most interesting things out there. Back in the 80's the laws weren't as clear cut. Hence why certain toys could share the same names despite being from seperate companies.

These days the companies hold onto their Trademarks tenaciously.

I just chalk it up to the times and stuff.
