Re: Canadian Slag Episode 18 - Goooldfinger

Another great podcast, guys. I really loved the getting to know segment, since you mentioned me... though I was kinda expecting the Seacons I can't complain because you guys put so much work into it.
As for Shockwave figures, aren't we supposed to be getting the Energon Shockblast figure re released in the Universe 2.0 line? I remember that rumor breaking in may.

http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/possible-25th-anniversary-shockwave-in-the-works/15890/

Great stuff on WWII! I like to think of myself as bit of a history buff, so the idea of WWII TFs always appealed to me. I always liked the idea of Scourge and the Sweeps as German U-boats. Their alt-modes already look like submarines and their things on their heads always looked like periscopes.
Tidal wave could be the Bismark, Broadside could be the most powerful battleship the British had at the time, Jetfire could be the experimental jet fighter that the Germans had (giving the option to do the usual plot line of him starting out as a decepticon and later becoming an autobot). The possabilities are endless!

Cosmos can be the saucer shaped plane the Germans were working on....it would be awesome but I'm gonna bet Hasbro wouldn't want to test the waters of an entire line of them but a few here and there is all we can ask for :P

As the for that Universe Shockwave, I remember reading that rumor but even it was released it was unchanged from the Energon so at best it would get a quick mention...

If there's any other characters out there that have yet to be done shout folks, we'll cover it

Thanks, I think it's important we educate all fans of the awesomeness that is Soundtape, Dogbot, and Laserbird.

Make Cosmos the Avro Aerocar instead, but yeah, I guess the Gotha flying wing would be pretty cool for Cosmos as well. I was going to say turning THAT into Scourge and the Sweeps would be pretty cool as well.

I would love to see the Schwerer Gustav made into Omega Supreme. But it may be better suited to Trypticon since it was a German weapon after all.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schwerer_Gustav

The thing was a gun so massive that it had to move around on railroads.

Why not use the experimental Maus tank then? It was even bigger, right?

Great episode guys! The GPS part was great information, I only thought it happened to only G1 toys. I picked up my BW Grimlock to check him for GPS and a the peg hole on the back of his right leg is broken. Now I know not to touch him anymore lol

Kudos on the episode! Can't say there was anything I didn't really enjoy!

Well, except for Leonard Nimoy...the way he treated those fans wasn't cool at all!

I still have the leftovers of those WW2 Gobots...they didn't survive my childhood very well...

Thanks, Duncan gives a little more information on the next episode on GPS. But as you learned this effected a few Beast Wars characters but I can't think of any recent figures from RiD up that used gold plastic and may be susceptible to GPS in the future. Must have been recognized round this time what was happening and stopped it.

Though I'm looking at Universe Vector Prime and wondering whats in his plastic to make it nice and copper....

That is sheer genius!

Thankfully you didn't try to charge them, say, fifty bucks for the honour of them signing something for you!

(Although there's always next year! )
