How are you liking CW Devastator?

Got my CW Devastator in the mail yesterday, and after fiddling with it for a bit, I find that I like it way more than I thought I would.

Sure the individual bot modes have their significant flaws, but the head sculpts and silhouettes are spot on. The combined mode feels solid, as in it's not going to fall apart if I shake it a little to vigorously.

And if feels pretty easy to to put it into a pose without fear of it toppling over.

Some of these things come about because the bots are a bit hollow so there's not a whole lot of weight stressing the joints, but for me, combined mode just seems to work. I might niggle about the head, though it looks way better in person.

The simplicity of the transformations makes it feel more playable. Like I can assemble and disassemble and fiddle around with things without fear of breaking anything.

Like I said it's not flawless--far from it--but IMHO it's a nice solid 7.5 out of 10.

What do you guys think?

I love it. The combined mode is beautiful. Like anyone else I have a few nit picks but I understand the constraints Hasbro was under and I am amazed they pulled this off. Would have liked to have guns for each individual bots.

Waste of money. I'd rather wait for Takara.

After a little touch-ups and paint apps it is awesome. I even made a better cab for Mixmaster. Solid figure.

It's awesome...actually very enjoyable to play with, looks great, bots are g1 accurate, durable, super solid and posable.

I can see why people want to wait for Takara, but if you end with a Hasbro at a fair price I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed.

Oh yeah, and he's huge...

That's what she said....

For 179 plus tax you can't go wrong. Scales nicely with my warbruticus and is solid unlike some 3p combiners, i'm looking at you intimidator and warlord (they fall over if you look at them too hard)

Quality of plastic reeks of mass production but can't fault hasbro for wanting to keep the sticker tag down

Very, very impressed. He has the most "organic" combination I have ever seen... the robots merge into each other, pegging into multiple points, which is so much more satsfying than having single-port connections. The combiner form feels like one giant, integrated machine.

Yeah, that's one of the things I noticed too. This is the one obvious area where Hasbro did an exceptional job.

Hasbro superior. 3rd parties inferior.
