Is RiD Megatron worth 30 bucks?
I wanted a Megatron, so it can battle it out with Prime. The thing is, I looked at it when at Zellers when it first came out. I couldn't bring myself to pay for this thing. It's cleary not painted, and the gun gimmick really sucks. If only the sword and gun comes as a fixed piece instead of the gimmick.
How much do you guys think it's worth? I think I should have picked it up for 15 on sale, but it's so badly made comparing to the worst of FE figures.
Do you guys think Hasbro/Takara will issue a new Megatron in the future?

About $15.
I do like him though, regardless of the lacking paint apps, he still looks good. I'm glad I got him for $15, but I would have still picked him up for 30 if it came down to it.

Should've got him when he was on-sale. I wouldn't pay more than the $20 USD retail he goes for (picked him up in PHX @ the end of Feb).

At $30, I'd pass. I have both and the deluxe is a better figure . The voyager megs... Feels cheap. It's a solid figure and a fair size but I would have guessed it was a KO based on plastic quality.
$15 or lower is fine for that guy (add $2.99 for a jar of silver paint)
You might want to wait for the enevitable Takara version

Now that's an idea. Maybe for the first time ever I actually will wait to see what Takara does with the mold first. I mean I picked up GD-03 in favor of Supreme Starscream with Cybertron and I got Galvatron General and Nightscream Reverse instead of their Energon counterparts.
I don't think there is anything truly wrong with the toy, but a different paint app might make it more inviting. Besides, if its Takara I can always count on local collector based retail stores to pick up some of the Takara stuff for sale here.
EDIT: If anything, he may come with a better accessory.

Takara's might not be much different though, given they're giving everyone a minicon, less paint apps, and stickers.
But the mold is definitely worth what the sale price was - heck, the Prime was worth that too. I'm not entirely sure which is better, either - the Prime is a solid toy and would have been great had we not gotten the FE.

Stickers? A Mini-Con? That kind of sells it for me, nothing like fun G1 Nostalgia in Sticker Details and a bonus Mini-Con... Those Arms Microns were pretty neat, and if they make all new molds for their own market... Well.
Incidentally, how can there be anything less paint appy than the current Prime Megs Voyager? If anything, Takara might at least give us gun metal gray or silver for the primary plastic color as opposed to a flat gray.

Is Takara making a Voy Megatron? Not that I know of, cause it looks like/priced like a deluxe size on websites for Takara.

Re: Is RiD Megatron worth 30 bucks?
lol, I'm old school. I thought you were asking about the Purple Dragon, hand bot from 2001.
Which is totally worth it imo.
As for PRIM- IDK. I won't pay 30 for it.

20 - Yes.
30 - That's pushing it.
