Re: Attack on Titan

Started off with anime then read the manga, and am enjoying both! For those who have completed season one, and need a little more, the OVA came out. Slight spoilers in it, but nothing big. Enjoy!

Not quite as amazing as the hype that surrounds it!

Re: Attack on Titan

I couldn't get into this anime at all. I actually haven't watched anime in some time, I find alot of them lately arent appealing to me. I think the last newest animes I watched and enjoyed were Gundam 00 and Sengoku Basara. I'm looking forward to the new Sailor Moon and Samurai Warriors anime.

Well that's when you just know you're getting older and more wiser...

Re: Attack on Titan

I've really been getting into Attack on Titan, I'm about half way through the season. I also pre-ordered the Figma Mikasa ^^

Anyone seen the AoT: Abridged episodes on youtube? It was actually through them that my Wife got interested in sitting down to watch the series

I like it. I'll definitely looking forward to the next season. The swords that the scouts use, they remind me of those disposable xacto blades.

I thought you were going to post this: http://gg-figure-news.blogspot.ca/2013/09/attack-on-titan-funnies-what-if-mikasa.html

For mecha x AoT I think that is pretty funny.

Anyways. It's a pretty good show, a bit over hyped mainly becuz of the filler they added in to stretch out the story or bide time while the manga is still being written; I still really like it though. I didn't look too deep into it becuz I really hate spoilers, but I hear the filler is for the most part done pretty well in that it expands on events that the manga glosses over i.e. episode 24 (or was it 23? don't remember). Or the "cannon" episode. If you've seen the show, I think you know what I mean.

The one advice I would give to a new viewer is to skip the recap episode which would be called ep 13.5 or 14. It's a complete waste of time.

Actually no, I don't believe age has anything to do with things. I don't believe in this growing up, growing out of things. I think it's because the animation and stories of new animes are so boring, overused and not amusing as much anymore. I still love anime, I haven't changed it's the anime that's changed.

You're right, you haven't grown out of it, you suffer from something worse - you're jaded. :P

Personally, I thought AOT was good but nothing special. Tonally, there's a lot of similarities between it and the Walking Dead TV show, only AOT is filled with your stereotypical anime characters. Plot wise, nothing much has really happened and it can get over-dramatic at times. But hey, the animation is super flashy, the world seems like an interesting place and Mikasa is too awesome not to watch.

I've read further into the manga and now my only concern is that it will follow the same path as all the hugely popular shōnens (One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, etc) and just never end. Eventually resulting in fight after fight with less and less importance on the actual plot.
