I'd rather get a bag of chips with some air than what amounts to chip gravel.
Also, by weight/volume chips are less costly than many other kinds of junk food, so the fact that the bag is mostly air is not really much of a ripoff when you think about it.
My (least) favorite food rip-off? Food or drinks at any place that has a monopoly in the area.

i know what you mean. I went to Boston Pizza yesterday for dinner. My girlfriend wanted mayo for her burger. They came with a small plastic cup of it, no bigger than a shot glass.
then on the bill:
1 Mayo $1.99
no kidding.
