I know BBTS is big, but I still don't really understand how they ended up with this exclusive. They don't seem to wield sufficient power to commission it from Hasbro, not for that price...
I think there's more to this story than meets the eye.

Re: Piranacon = BBTS exclusive
Guess I'm not getting him then. That's a bit of a shame, but I can only make big purchases if I see the thing and let the madness take over. Plus, shipping makes me hate.

Re: Piranacon = BBTS exclusive
Meh. I wasn't too impressed with the Club version. Not impressed this one, but preordered it anyway. I would rather a God Nuptune colors version.

Nope, not joking.
Once shipping and customs are factored in it will be around 100 bucks. Not bad considering it is a G1 re-issue, but as I don't really collect G1, 100 bucks is too much for me to spend right now.
I am also guessing that BBTS will have a SHIT ton of these and after the main rush dies down, they will be left with a stockpile, therefore needing to put them on sale. That being said I won't be too upset if I miss out as I have a G1 version from back in the day that still looks great.

Re: Piranacon = BBTS exclusive
Jumped on the preorder. For $10 more than what the price was shown at Botcon is just fine by me. And $60 for a Piranacon is a fantastic deal in my mind.

Re: Piranacon = BBTS exclusive
Ya after shipping and tax and duty this will end up costing around a bill to bring in
Something smells a little fishy here... I think piranacon will be a SDCC exclusive and BBTS gets first crack at the surplus (probably along with HTS, at 49.99)

When I preordered my set the shipping is $13.XX US. So the whole deal will be around $73~74 Cadn. It is under $100 so you have a good chance that CanadaPost won't tag on a $7 clearance fees + sales tax (i.e. PST + GST, GST only for Albertans, and HST for BC/ON-ians). I have only had one time that Border Service charge me sales tax on anything under $100US through USPS/CanadaPost and there is no duty for toys, at least AFAIK (my duty code is a bit rusty... but I have never had duty put on any action figures + Gunpla's). Ok, even if you were charged sales tax you have to pay for it for any local purchase anyway, isn't it?
Anyhow, to each of his own. Of course, if G1 is not your thing it is not a must-have at any price
