fallen heroes pyro

classics battle damaged g2 pyro.this is a bot that i find rather difficult to let go of.(it was just as hard damaging him up)
iirc, the head is taken and modified from a cybertron wingsaber, donated awhile back by local member hughdahman.
his new giant gattling gun is a combination of cybertron landmine's leg,a arm from a green and white digimon thing, some lego pieces, darth vader's chest detail(first version)and a k'nex wheel.

the other big water cannon/rifle is made from a combination of g1 onslaught's small bot mode chest shield,2 finger leds,a k/o rifle of g2 jazz and a forearm piece from a robotech beta bot.
his smallest cannon/antenna is lego and megablocks.
the new water tanks that adorn his alt mode sides and beef up his bot mode legs are from a 1/32 scale semi-truck's fuel tank, cut in half and glued then screwed.almost everything modded onto him is screwed as i don't trust just glue alone.

the battle damage was done with a soldering iron,36 grit sand paper and a torch/flathead screwdriver.

all was first base coated in automotive flat black enamel, then every other color is hand painted with tamiya acrylics.everything's received a dust coat of u/v resistant automotive clearcoat.
his electronic lights and sounds still work, albiet minus the two leds that used to be right behind his original cannons on the turret and the one in his head.(it's also the first version of onslaught,so his siren sound gets cut off)

(side note, without them doing what they do around the world,we wouldn't have the lives we have and live.)

bot mode, which also received more of a grey wash than the alt mode, along with more edge painting with tamiya silver metallic.the attached pic is what i was using as a coloring reference from idw.

Re: fallen heroes pyro

Great job as usual Chans! Fantastic paint job (you nailed the G1 colours) and battle damage.

Love the big cannon and the rifle, he looks like a totally new bot with those.

Oh, you made a wise choice leaving out the stripes.

Wow! Way better than the BotCon version. Maybe FunPub should have switched the molds they used for Pyro and Clench.

Re: fallen heroes pyro

I can't say anything more than this is a work of pure art. He turned out wonderfully! I love the tanks on his legs, they're subtle but add a lot to his appearance.

I think a lot of people will want this just because it's a cool G2(ish) character without the dayglow colours.

...And way to give me bullet hole envy... No way are Whirl's going to look that good.

Re: fallen heroes pyro

thanks fellas!!!
a shame he's gonna be auctioned off in the end,but atleast it's a good cause.

@bruticus82,thanks,i did debate whether or not to do the stripes, but i was afraid it'd look like a warwithin version of bumblebee in alt mode.this is also the reason why i didn't paint his wheel hubs yellow as per idw colors.i was trying to limit the yellows, especially in alt mode.i think you're the first to actually notice the missing black and yellow fugly stripes

@malwave,check out the tutorials section kid
good ol' "TTT"s got a very informative battledamage tutorial in there.
if it wasn't for his sharing his techniques on how to massacre figures, this bot wouldn't look like he does
