I know what you wrote, but this is a MISB set, therefore it makes sense to only compare MISB with MISB

That's not exactly how it works, but I get it, your life revolved arguing just about every single thing. You win.

Yeah, I noticed yours a few days back, too bad I already have 2 Megs otherwise will bite that for sure.
Back to the thread, the point is Classic OP and Megs are not expensive, I don't think a MISB set for $110 make sense. For most of us, they are just toys, MISB or MIB makes not much differences, since it will be opened and played with.

Re: Amazon.ca - TF Plat. Prime vs. Megs set - $110
If the set followed the logic of previously released sets of Voyagers, it would be $60, maybe even $55. The AOE Evolution of Optimus Prime set had 2 Voyagers (including Classics Optimus) for $40 USD! So yes, this set is severely overpriced.

It's not about arguing to win anything, but make a federal case out of nothing if you want, I'm just curious as to how you think you wouldn't compare MISB with MISB.
How do you know he's going to open the set? If it was me I wouldn't. I collect MISB stuff and loose stuff, some people just loose, some people just MISB.
And whether we all agree or not, let's be real for a minute, MISB toys sell for much higher than loose ones.

I just showed you a set of 2 Voyagers was selling for only 40 USD at retail just 2 years ago. Drop it.

I don't see why you won't explain your reasoning.

Re: Amazon.ca - TF Plat. Prime vs. Megs set - $110
I do find this set overpriced as well.
The fact of the matter is that you cannot simply compare MISB to MISB.
By that logic it would be ok for a G1 Reissue MISB to be the same price as a vintage MISB.
I find the price to be high because they are 2 voyager toys which run about 35$ in the current lines. They molds are quite old so let's go head and say the value individually is about 45$. It's still a little high. Normally when you buy a "set" you pay less than the individuals would cost.
That being said I would think this would be priced well if it was 79.99 or 89.99.
It doesn't help that the color choices are not everyone's cup of tea. I would argue Megs is better and that Prime is worse than the original.
Unfortunately Platinum seems to always be about 30% more than it should be. I would hate to see what that movie anniversary pack will cost. If I had to guess, I would say around 220$
